Position Overview

The Nursing Manager is a Registered Nurse who is empowered to ensure the delivery of personalized, comprehensive care to patients admitted to the oncology nursing unit. Responsibilities include 24 hour accountability, direct supervision of licensed and unlicensed staff, and direct interaction with patients, their caregivers and families, as it pertains to their experiences in dealing with unit staff. Coordinates with other disciplines in the daily management of the oncology nursing unit. Assists in developing philosophy, goals and objectives for the unit that meets clinical and regulatory requirements.

Key Position Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program
  • Active Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Three years nursing experience in acute care or oncology
  • 1-3 years previous management experience strongly preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Oncology Nursing Society’s (ONS) Chemotherapy Certified preferred
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and handle several complex situations simultaneously
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to research learn and obtain knowledge for the performance of the position
  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize critical thinking and apply sound clinical judgment and assessment skills for decision making
