Description

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Facility and Professional Corporation of Oklahoma Coders assisting the HIM Manager to answer operational questions and tracking performance for those stakeholders. Analyze and report Key Performance Indicators, assist with implementation of internal coding compliance plan, as well as analyze clinician documentation to provide educational material forthe Documentation Improvement Initiative. Provide leadership for the physician and facility coders regarding coordination of code sets, compliance and education. Lead Documentation Improvement Initiatives for Southwestern providers. Coordinate efforts with all departments who have a role in the revenue cycle to address the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of code set submission. Insure the measures of success and conditions of participation of governing bodies are implemented.

• Minimum AS or AA degree in health care related field
• RHIT, RHIA, AHIMA or AAPC coding credential preferred.
• Minimum 3 years medical record production and/or supervisory experience in acute care or ambulatory care facility
• BS or BA degree in health care related field & membership in professional society preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy laws, Oklahoma state release of information laws, city of Tulsa health care institutions policy and procedure for transfer of information, institutional procedures for analyzing, copying and releasing information. Written and verbal communication ability with all clinicians and their staff professionally, succinctly, and authoritatively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Operation of scanning, copying, and Faxing equipment; multi-line phone system, and computer software applications including Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word
• Knowledge and adherence to JCAHO Information Management Elements of performance, as well as CMS Conditions of Participation
